How Do I Love Thee, Let Me Count The Ways

As I child I used to have an exercise book filled with all my favourite quotes. Now as an adult, I collect love quotes...not only because it gives you a better insight on love. But I find that romance is not so much about what you say but how you say it and there is nothing more romantic for me than insight on love. Here is a list of my favourite quotes:

1. “Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.”
—Henry Louis Mencken

2. “Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.”
—Franklin P. Jones

3. “Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it. It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more.”
—Erica Jong

4. "She walks in Beauty, like the night
Of cloudness climes and starry skies,
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes..."
--Lord Byron

5. "Two souls with but a single thought, two hearts that beat as one."
--John Keats

6. "Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction."
--Antoine de Saint-Exupery

7. "Love is friendship set on fire."
--Jeremy Taylor

8. "You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly."
--Sam Keen

9. "Love is the emblem of eternity: it confounds all notion of time: effaces all memory of a beginning, all fear of an end."
--Germaine De Stael

10. We are all born for love... it is the principle existence and it's only end."
--Benjamin Disraeli

Love my friends, it is the nectar of life that makes all the hurt worth it! --Nisha :)

True Love Doesn't Cost a Thing

So a good friend of mine is cracking his head on what to do for his girlfriend on her birthday. Although he wants to give her the best birthday that a girl could ever have, he (like me) is not exactly made of money. So what to do? Well here are a few suggestions:

1. Make your own "love coupons." Love coupons are basically little cards you give your beloved that are like gift certificates for romance. You can create cards that are good for a massage, a picnic at the beach and a movie night. It doesn't take much time to type them up and print them on your computer and they are always good for a smile and laugh when presented to your mate. Leave them in lunch bags, purses or wallets or tape them to a bathroom mirror to make them a sweet surprise.

2. Make her a romantic meal. A private dinner with lots of candles, wine and great food. The perfect combination for a perfect night.

3. Pretend you’re going on a first date — show up at the door with flowers, all dressed up, with your car washed and cleaned, looking spiffy. Recreate the first moments the two of you had as a couple.

4. Burn a CD with love songs. All the songs on Red FM's Late Night Love Songs are recommended :)

5. Pack a sunset picnic.

6. A massage followed up by a bath together (use bubbles!).... if you're married la.

7. Jot down all the things you love about your partner. Your partner will love it.

8.Buy something that your partner dreamed of when she was a child, but never had. The sentiment will bring her to tears. And the fact that you remembered will get you so lucky.

9. Use your special talent to make an original gift. If you are musically inclined, Compose a Song for the recipient! There is no feeling in the world quite like hearing a song and knowing you were in the mind of the composer. Using materials you already have, Create a Painting, or sketch or draw a picture/portrait for your loved one. Film a Fun Video! Make your memories and laughs will last a lifetime.

10. Finally tell your loved one how much you love them publicly. Announce it in the PA system of your favourite restaurant, write I Love You (name of your loved one) on your car with removable paint, stuff like these will give her a memory that will last a lifetime.

Good luck my friend!! Love like its your last day!

I'm Yours

By now I am sure you have heard of the The Script, my favourite boys
from Ireland. Well I am sure you have heard of The Man Who Can't Be
Moved and Breakeven. But there is song that I simply can't stop
listening to and its called I'm Yours. It has to be the sweetest ever
written. Here are the lyrics:

"I'm Yours"

You touch these tired eyes of mine
And map my face out line by line
And somehow growing old feels fine
I listen close for I'm not smart
You wrap you thoughts in works of art
And they're hanging on the walls of my heart

I may not have the softest touch
I may not say the words as such
And though I may not look like much
I'm yours
And though my edges may be rough
And never feel I'm quite enough
It may not seem like very much
But I'm yours

You heeled these scars over time
Embraced my soul
You loved my mind
You're the only angel in my life
The day news came my best friend died
My knees went week and you saw me cry
Say I'm still the soldier in your eyes

I may not have the softest touch
I may not say the words as such
And though I may not look like much
I'm yours
And though my edges may be rough
And never feel I'm quite enough
It may not seem like very much
But I'm yours

I may not have the softest touch
I may not say the words as such
I know I don't fit in that much
But I'm yours

Check it out, I think you will love it too!!:
